Srinivasa Ramanujan : The great mathematician Ramanujan (Srinivasa Ramanujan) was one of the great mathematicians of India, whose amazing mathematical insight, not only the whole country but also the world was amazed. The genius of this moderately talented, great and young mathematician was so unique that from childhood, he not only gave birth to many fundamental principles of mathematics but also showed it in practical forms in various forms. His life is characterized by an untimely recounting of the extraordinary genius who has suffered from the curse of subjugation, whose pathosity tells that the story of Ramanujan (Srinivasa Ramanujan) is a life story of opportunity.
The great mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan (Srinivasa Ramanujan) was born on 22 December 1887 in a Brahmin family in the town of Kumbikonam in Tamil Nadu. His mother Komalatammal was a conservative woman with religious rites. The indelible impression of those religious rites was so much on Ramanujan that his entire life was sacrificed for these rites. His father used to do bookkeeping at a saree shop at a salary of Rs 20 per month. Since childhood Ramanujan (Srinivasa Ramanujan) was a keen, reclusive, playful child with a very sharp intellect.
He used to solve all the mathematics questions completely in a very short time. Seeing his extraordinary knowledge in mathematics, even his teachers used to scare him. They used to question that before that Ramanujan used to solve it. They used to solve the toughest questions with new formulas and different methods so easily that their mathematics teachers used to cut them. All the teachers of Mathematics considered their talent to be iron.
At the age of 16, he had defeated 5000 sutras, theorems and proofs, not only the scholars of the country but also abroad. He was one of those talented mathematicians who used to solve step by step mathematics questions. He was not interested in any other subject except mathematics. His scholarship was taken away due to his failure in all other compulsory subjects except mathematics.
Srinivasa Ramanujan was of a very tender nature. They could not bear the failure. When they failed, they ran away from home so that they would not have to face the parents. His parents wanted to teach him even after his weak financial condition. He started tutoring for books and copio expenses. Ramanujan, who used to study tuition, considered them as meritorious and used to study them. Which the students could not understand. Now they also stopped getting tuition.
Ramanujan (Srinivasa Ramanujan) used to study books from his fellow students and used to solve mathematics questions on his own. After passing the high school examination, Ramanujan joined Kumbakonam College where English, Greek, Roman, Kayiki, History and Mathematics subjects also had to be studied. Ramanujan (Srinivasa Ramanujan) passed out with 100% marks in Mathematics, but his scholarship was taken away due to his failure in other subjects.
He was married to Janaki in 1909. Started tuition work again. Also continued to write research work on mathematics. His first paper was published in 1911 in the third issue of the journal titled Some Properties of Burnley Numbers, including a 17-page eight theorem. Impressed by his research, he got a scholarship of Rs 25 monthly and got a clerk job in Madras. In 1912, he was introduced to the famous mathematician Henry Federick Baker of University of Cambridge, EW Hobson, Herald Holdy. Professor Holdy decided to call England to see Ramanujan’s versatility and to evaluate his research.
Ramanujan (Srinivasa Ramanujan) was not ready to go to England due to religious and family restrictions. Ramanujan reached England on 14 April 1911. He was not relatively welcome there because he was a black Indian. Some mathematicians were afraid and jealous of his talent, but he was surprised when Professor Haldi saw Ramanujan’s book of 120 theorems. Based on those miracle papers, he got a BA degree without examination. Meanwhile, 21 great papers of Ramanujan were published. He came to England for 2 years, in the meantime World War II broke out.
Srinivasa Ramanujan was a vegetarian. They worked tirelessly for 20 hours, doing the hard work of the cold weather there. He was not getting any regular vegetarian food. They could not live without eating rice. Due to World War, getting rice from ships was also rare. Due to religious rituals, they used to bathe at four o’clock in the morning with cold water. All these reasons made his body weak. Gastric, blood poisoning then turned into cancer.
In 1917, he fell into deep despair due to being denied Trinitry fellowship. There was no one to serve him. Meanwhile, his wife left him in the village. Surrounded by unhealthy food, adverse weather conditions and despair, Ramanujan once walked out of the hospital on a walk and was trying to commit suicide by jumping in front of the train, in the meantime, fortunate to find him there, Haldi somehow saved him. He brought them to the same hospital. He continued in research even amidst physical malaise.
Ramanujan (Srinivasa Ramanujan) was elected by the Royal Society for fellowship. He was in such a weak state that he could not even go to the ceremony of honor. Later he was also awarded Trinitry Fellowship. He used to get a scholarship of 50 pounds yearly. They accepted it for the maintenance of their parents and for the scholarship of the remaining poor students. In this state of illness, in 1920 Ramanujan handed over the solved truss to Sir John Andrews, with examples of 650 formulas and theorems from various methods.
The great mathematician Ramanujan was so influential that instead of reaching his pramayo from the theorem in a systematic manner, he used to leap to Maruti and reach the purified values directly. His divine talent was enchanted and incredible before the British mathematicians. Such a great mathematician died only at the age of 39, by virtuous and untimely demise.
